Hare’s Apparatus experiment is a classic experiment in chemistry that involves the electrolysis of water. The experiment uses a setup known as Hare’s Apparatus, which consists of a Hoffman voltameter and two test tubes. The purpose of the experiment is to demonstrate the decomposition of water into its constituent gases, hydrogen and oxygen, using an electric current.

In the experiment, water is added to the Hoffman voltameter, and an electric current is passed through the water using two carbon electrodes. As the current passes through the water, it causes the water to electrolyze, resulting in the production of oxygen gas at the positive electrode and hydrogen gas at the negative electrode. These gases can then be collected in the test tubes and their properties can be observed.
